Fair Trade Textile Buddy

Safia and I share almost the same birth date and year. We arrived in Japan 24 years ago around the same time. We area both textile nuts. We used to spend so much time together and now we squeeze a years worth of gossip, updates and future plans in under 24 hours. She is the founder of People Tree and Global Village. Always on the go.       We are both such gossips we get our heads together and laugh and I never have time to think of her as famous. Even when she starts a sentence like...'I had lunch with Brad and Angelina and I was so nervous I couldn't shut up....' or 'I gave him some organic long underwear as a present and told him I'd rather meet his mom because she was more my height.' (Prince Charles) She is a woman who manages to get it all.

    What a brilliant woman, I read her biography. Safia is such an inspiration, I would love to meet her one day (coming to Florence maybe?!).

      We worked together for years in Laos I found her and her husband a weekend house just a few minutes from mine. She moved back to London a few years back and is only in Japan one week a month. Yes, she will pop down to Florence when I am there. She is an amazing woman.
