I lived with Snoopy for nineteen years and I was her third owner. I suppose she was over 23 years old. She had a good life. Free here in the mountains. She passed away in her sleep a few hours back. She has been suffering since last August. I am going to miss her.
Goodnight ol' Snooperoo.
How sad, Snoopy was so much part of our adventure last April. You have been such a good master to her, this is why she lived so long.
ReplyDeleteThanks Blandina,
ReplyDeleteI can't remember life without her here. I was her buddy. It was an equal relationship. We took care of each other.
SNOOPY

I'm so sad to hear this Bryan. We all enjoyed meeting Snoopy in April and know how much she meant to you. I'm glad she died so peacefully, it seems right. Her chair will seem empty. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lis,
ReplyDeleteIt was her time to go. She was really suffering the past few months. Almost blind, completely deaf and even her sense of smell was almost gone. I'd give anything for just another day with her. She is sleeping beside my bed tonight for one last time.
Sorry for your loss, Bryan. Snoopy had a great life- because of you. I am glad you two got to spend so many years together. Goodnight sweet Snoopy.
ReplyDeleteLoosing a friend as faithful as Snoopy is such a hard thing. Loved him when I met him in March with Marna. Thinking of you, Brian---Paula
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear that Snoopy has moved on to a new adventure, she will be missed by many but none more than you. rest in peace, Snoopy.
ReplyDeleteoh, bryan, i am sorry. this made me cry, and i know that you know why.
ReplyDeletea hug from the great white north (or 25 miles below it).
So sorry that you have lost your buddy. Our New Zealand poet Sam Hunt said "When a man pats a dog the world is that much better a place." What a part you and Snoopy have played...
ReplyDeleteJenny
So sad to hear about Snoopy's death. I feel I got to know her through your blog. Sleep sweetly Snoopy.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the lovely comments and emails. Snoopy is sadly missed here. The village is emptier without her little paw marks on the pavement. She is resting in peace, hoping for a sudden snack to appear out of the blue. (Somethings never change.)
ReplyDeleteBryan
doing tonglen so that i can send snoopy her snack...
ReplyDeletehugs to you
so, so sorry Bryan...we have many a pet friend on the bridge above now and I have to believe we will see them all again one day.
ReplyDeletesafe travels old Snoopy pup. toss her an imaginary biscuit here and there, she'll catch it.
I sure hope I get to see ol' Snoopy again. I need to tell her how much she meant to me.
ReplyDeleteI think Snoopy probably already knew how much she meant to you and it could be the reason why she lived to such as incredible age.
ReplyDeleteWhich makes the heart ache that much more.
Still, I would love to tell her again, face to snout.
ReplyDeletepeace and serenity to you, bryan san.
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to refind your blog today after a computer meltdown lost my link to it several months ago,but so sad to read of the loss of your Snoopy. Love and light to her--and you--as she makes her way on the next step of the journey. Now I need to go and hug my own beloved dog, a blind and deaf 11 year old airedale who changes my life every day. So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteTreasure your pup. My heart aches every time I can't go give Snoopy a hug. I think Snoopy wants to come back and re do the last journey. It was wonderful.
